Hetq Reporter Wins 1st Prize in Religious Tolerance Media Competition
Hetq reporter Gayane Sargsyan won first prize at the Annual Media Award on Religious Tolerance organized by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation and supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands.
Sargsyan wrote a piece entitled “When I said we were expecting a child, he rejected me and the child”, based on the true story of a 22-year-old Molokan woman named Maria.
Presenting the award to Sargsyan, Mrs. Floor Nuiten-Elzinga, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tbilisi, said: “This is a fine example of investigative reportage. It’s a story behind the news that conveys a human story. You have created an article that I couldn’t read without getting goosebumps.”
