Armenia's Parliament Passes Bill to Draw More Water from Lake Sevan
Armenia’s parliament, by a vote of 77 to 3, passed a government-sponsored bill to draw an additional 100 million cubic meters of water from Lake Sevan
The three dissenting votes were cast by the opposition Yelk Alliance.
The government argues that the country’s reservoir water capacity isn’t sufficient and that Sevan’s water is needed.
