Sari Tagh Trial Continues; Police Can't Identify Defendants

Two policemen, prosecution eyewitnesses in the trial of Harutyun Torosyan, Hrayr Isakhanyan, Andranik Kyeosyan and Edward Zeytunyan, charged with public disorder during clashes with police on July 19,2016, in the Sari Tagh neighborhood of Yerevan, testified today in court that they can’t identify any of the defendants.

Senior Inspector Hovhannes Aleksanyan and Inspector Edgar Karapetyan testified that the incident was over a year ago and they couldn’t recall the faces of any of the people in the crowd.

The incident occurred following the seizure of a Yerevan police building by a group calling itself Sasna Dzrer. Hundreds of residents had gathered near the area and were later set upon by the police using stun grenades.
