Narek Aleksanyan
Opposing the planned opening of the Amulsar Gold Mine in Armenia, protesters took to the streets in Yerevan today rolling a huge gold-colored ball, symbolizing the 70 tons of gold that Lydia International expects to extract from the mine, through the downtown area.
Protesters held placards reading "Gold to you, cyanide to us?"
Cops, caught off guard, rushed to scene to stop the “illegal orb”.
