President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is now in Armenia on a one day visit.

Ahmadinejad earlier met today met with RA President Serzh Sargsyan and other Armenian government officials for discussions on a number of bilateral and regional issues.

“I’m confident that this visit will further promote friendly relations between our countries. The new stage of Armenian-Iranian friendship started from the very first day of Armenia’s independence. Therefore, today, we not only mark the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia, but also the 20th anniversary of our recent friendship,” President Serzh Sargsyan said at the meeting.
