Armenian President Serzh Sargsayn today met with a visiting delegation of the United Russia, the ruling political party of the Russian Federation.

The delegation is led by Sergey Zheleznyak, a former Duma deputy speaker who, according to an official government press release, praised the “wise and balanced policies being implemented in Armenia that will allow for the greatest use of the developmental potential that exists in Armenia.”

Zheleznyak added that the ruling party in Russia supports developing relations and cooperation with others on an open basis and that, in this context, Armenia is furthering its ties with both Russia and the European Union.
