A blizzard today took the life of one member of a hiking expedition on Mt. Ara in Armenia’s Kotayk Province.

The Ministry of Emergency Affairs reports that it dispatched a rescue unit to the site, near the Varvarakuys Church, and contacted expedition members by telephone, who confirmed the death.

Others in the group are said to have suffered various injuries.
