Armenian Government Gives Green Light for Aragats Perlite Mine
Another mine is scheduled to start operating in Armenia.
The Ministry of Nature Protection recently approved a plan submitted by Hidden Gold Ltd. to start mining for perlite at the Aragats Mine in Aragatsotn Province in the Talin region.
Hidden Gold, founded in 2014, is 100% owned by Gourgen Nikoghosyan.
The open pit mine measures 66 hectares.
Nikoghosyan also owns Manana Grain, a large-scale importer of cereals that also produces flour marketed in Armenia under the brand name Armash. One of its subsidiaries, Yeghvard Combined Feed Factory, produces animal feed.
