Minutes ago, men in civilian dress forcibly detained Civil Contract political party member Tigran Avinyan.

Nikol Pashinyan, who has spearheaded a wave of anti-Serzh Sargsyan protests, is a member of the Civil Contract board.

Today is the tenth day of protests in Armenia opposed to Serzh Sargsyan and his government. A meeting earlier today between protest leader Nikol Pashinyan and Sargsyan broke up after three minutes.

Yelk Alliance MPs Gevorg Gorgisyan, Artak Zeynalyan, Maneh Tandilyan and Aram Sargsyan are now in Yerevan’s Republic Square where a rally is scheduled to take place.
