Armenia: Deputy Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan to Replace Sargsyan
But what about Pashinyan's "transfer of government" demand?
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan is set to replace Serzh Sargsyan who resigned from the post earlier today.
The decision was made at a government cabinet session.
Sargsyan’s resignation was one of the two demands set by Nikol Pashinyan and the anti-government movement he spearheaded over the past two weeks.
The second demand is the smooth transfer of power to the people.
Pashinyan is expected to address the nation tonight and spell out what his next moves will be.
