President Says He's Holding Consultations, but With Whom?

While Armenian President Armen Sarkissian’s press office says that he’s continuing to consult with various political and civic representatives to find a resolution to the country’s political impasse, for some inexplicable reason, they fail to mention whom exactly he’s met with.

In a statement released today, the press office says the president has met with Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia’s ex-president and ex-prime minister, who serves as president of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), and Karen Karapetyan, the country’s acting prime minister and RPA vice president.

The meetings have been “constructive” according to the statement, adding that Sarkissian is hopeful that a mutually accepted solution will be found.

Sarkissian has also welcomed the recent meeting of Catholicos Garegin II and protest leader Nikol Pashinyan.
