Armenia: Parliament Nominates Pashinyan as Prime Minister Candidate

More than one-third of Armenia’s National Assembly deputies have today nominated Nikol Pashinyan as a candidate for the post of prime minister.

On May 1, the parliament rejected Pashinyan’s bid to become prime minister by a vote of 56-45.

A second election will be held on May 8.

As on May 1, Pashinyan is the only candidate in the May 8 election.
