Five people, including the mayor and the deputy mayor of Masis town, have been arrested in the scope of the criminal case launched regarding the incidents on April 22, this according to a Facebook post by Sona Trouzyan, an adviser to the president of the Investigative Committee.

The Committee earlier reported that on April 22, a group of people, some of them masked, attacked protesting citizens  and used violence, throwing  stones, batons and electric shock devices in Erebuni district of Yerevan.

An investigation is carried out to find out the identity of all alleged perpetrators.
