Armenian Parliament Approves Motion to Prosecute Manvel Grigoryan
By a vote of 77 to 3, Armenia’s National Assembly today approved a motion to prosecute MP Manvel Grigoryan and keep him in pre-trial detention on charges of illegal arms possession and embezzlement.
Two ballots were considered invalid.
Grigoryan was arrested last Saturday after National Security Service forces raided his home in Etchmiadzin and a summer resort in the Armavir village of Arshaluys.
A large cache of illegal weapons and stockpiles of food and other supplies destined for Armenian army soldiers were found.
