Residents of Gndevaz and Jermouk, in Vayots Dzor Province, have blocked the roads leading to the Amulsar gold mine since 5:30 am today, demanding a stop to its operation. 

Jermouk resident Vazgen Galstyan told Hetq that despite the fact that they had a meeting with government officials earlier in June, agreeing that a commission should be set up to inspect the mine, there has been no response from the government since then. 

"In fact, every day is very important to us, because they destroy here every day," Vazgen said.
