Armenian Army Colonel, 5 Others, Arrested in Diesel Fuel Theft
Armenia’s Investigative Committee (IC) reports that six Armenian military personnel, including one colonel and a major, have been arrested for stealing 24 tons of diesel fuel from an army base and then selling it on the black market.
The IC says the base’s colonel made an agreement with the major, who ran the motor pool, to use less fuel than had been allocated and to sell the balance. The theft occurred in the first six months of this year.
The damages amounted to AMD 8.856 million.
