Robert Kocharyan’s Attorneys Petition Court to Overturn Detention Order
Defense attorneys of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan, have filed an appeal to overturn the court decision to detain Kocharyan.
Attorney Aram Orbelyan told Hetq that they would be able to provide more information in a week. The day of the court hearing is still unknown.
Orbelyan says the ex-president is in a detention cell by himself and is busy writing a book.
Viktor Soghomonyan, who runs Kocharyan’s office, told Hetq earlier today that one-third of parliamentary deputies have signed a personal guarantee that Kocharyan would not flee prosecution if released from detention.
