The Enlightened Armenia and Republic political parties will field candidates in the September 23 Yerevan Municipal Council election under the Light Alliance ticket.

The top three candidates heading the ticket, in descending order, are Artak Zeynalyan (the current minister of Justice), Davit Khazhakyan (head of the Yelk faction in the current Yerevan Municipal Council), and Ani Khachatryan (member of the Yerevan Municipal Council’s Yelk faction).

Zeynalyan, heading the ticket, is the Light Alliance’s candidate for the post of Yerevan mayor.

Once formed, the council will then elect a new Yerevan mayor, from the list of candidates heading each ticket, to replace Taron Margaryan who resigned in July.
