Armenia’s Ministry of Nature Protection reports that an international team of experts from the ELARD Group  have arrived in Armenia to conduct an independent survey of the controversial Amulsar gold mine.

Amulsar opponents have halted construction at the mine site, and the Armenian government finds itself in a precarious legal position regarding the mine’s future.

ELARD (Earth Link & Advanced Resources Development is a leading regional world-class environmental and HSE consultancy firm operating primarily in the Middle East and North Africa.

The ministry, in a statement released today, invites all interested non-governmental organizations to meet with the team of experts on September 20, from 5-6:30pm
