Throughout the harsh years that followed the 1988 earthquake in Gyumri, changes in the city were slow. The photos presented are coupled, showing earthquake ruins and a picture of present-day Gyumri. Bringing together the two images in a similar composition is an attempt at bringing together the past and the present of Gyumri, as if reconciling them after 24 years.
