Samvel Avetisyan, confined to a wheelchair as a result of a tragic accident that occurred on May 8, 2012 at the Sotk military base in Vardenis, participated in a recent demonstration against the electricity rate hike in Yerevan’sLiberty Square along with his wife Emma. Afterwards, they also took part in similar protest actions and the sit-in up on Baghramyan Avenue. Samvel also donated a portion of funds collected for an upcoming medical operation so that food and other necessities could be purchased for those demonstrators engaged in the sit-in. He says it was the right thing to do.
