Less than a week is left before Armenia’s sixth presidential election. The candidates are busy making campaign stops and press appearances in the few days left to them. Paruyr Hayrikian, shot outside his Yerevan home on the night of January 31 is convalescing and has left the hospital. Andreas Ghoukasyan, a candidate who began a hunger strike from the outset, has been beset with worsening health issues. Serzh Sargsyan, Rafi Hovannisian and Hrant Bagratyan are running active campaigns designed to garner the support of voters. Candidates Arman Melikyan and Vardan Sedrakyan have preferred to get their message across via press conferences and interviews.
