The Socioscope NGO is presenting a film by Nazik Armenakyan and Anahit Hayrapetyan on the world’s “richest” city. Depicting the example of Kajaran, a town in Armenia, the film compares the pluses and minuses of the mining sector for local residents and highlights the delirious effects that mining has on human health and human life. The film seeks to inform citizens, both in Armenia’s Syunik Province and in other communities, that irresponsible mining practices are a threat to all of us. The project is being conducted by the Open Society Foundations, with assistance from the Armenian Art and Culture Project.
