Armenia Will Not Shift to "Summer Time"

Armenia will not shift to “summer time” any more, i.e. the clocks will not be set one hour ahead.

The decision was made during today’s cabinet session. The proposal was made by Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan who briefed the members of government on the problems associated with the time zone

Davtyan noted that, “Geographically, Armenia is situated in the GMT+3 time zone, and the shifts in spring and autumn disturb this.”

According to the minister, Georgia and Russia have also shifted to that time zone.
