
Armenian Justice Minister and Italian Ambassador to Armenia Discuss Anti-Corruption Campaign
Acting Armenian Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan today met with Italy’s Ambassador to Armenia Vincenzo Del Monaco in Yerevan, and the two discussed the ongoing anti-corruption campaign in Armenia, this according to a government press release.
Minister Zeynalyan told the ambassador that the current political situation in Armenia is “anti-constitutional” and that the issue will only be resolved once parliamentary elections are held in December.
“We are working towards holding an election whose result will be believed by the people and that will express their will, Zeynalyan said.
Referring to Armenia’s anti-corruption campaign, Deputy Justice Minister Souren Krmoyan told the ambassador that during a recent meeting in Vienna with top PACE officials, Armenia had reached an agreement to collaborate with its Italian colleagues, via PACE, in order to create a new corruption investigative body.
