Hay Post Issues Stamp Commemorating 100th Anniversary of Istanbul's Jamanak Newspaper

Hay Post, Armenia’s postal service,  has issued a 100-dram stamp to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Jamanak, the longest continuously running Armenian language daily newspaper in the world.

Published in Istanbul, the paper was founded on October 28, 1908․

The stamp depicts the paper’s founders, the brothers Misak and Sarkis  Koçunyan, the paper’s former offices, and the paper’s old banner.

The newspaper has been owned by the Koçunyan family ever since.

The commemorative stamp has a print run of 30,000.
