Newly appointed Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Vahagn Atabekyan yesterday, in Beirut, met with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon.

Stressing the unique importance of Armenian-Lebanese relations, Berri congratulated Atabekyan on his appointment and wished the ambassador success at his new post, this according to an Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release.

Berri promised to support steps to strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries once the make-up of the Armenian legislature is finalized.
