Though there are as much as 70 substance abusers registered in the province of Lori, 16 substance abusers (all from the city of Vanadzor) are being treated in the Lori Marz Psycho-neurological Dispensary in a methadone substitution treatment program by the RA Ministry of Healthcare funded by the Global Fund. Methadone is an artificial drug, which is used to mitigate withdrawal symptoms and drug cravings particularly for opiate users.
The Armenian analyst is sure that carried out in the name of integration in Georgia is the gradual process of Armenians being absorbed into the dominant culture, but the non-Georgian peoples living in Georgia — Armenians and Turks — don't combine their efforts to oppose this process because they don't have friendly relations with each other. According to Shirinyan, Georgians know this and use this to their advantage.
In October of last year, Vanadzor resident Vachagan Markosyan, 60, was rushed to Vanadzor's No. 1 Hospital named after Areshyan for an injury to his spinal region and chest, saying that he was injured due to a careless fall in the foyer.
