At a meeting today in Yerevan with Iranian Minister of Justice Mustafa Pourmohamadi, Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan noted that the number of crimes committed by Iranian citizens while visiting Armenia have dropped substantially, and so to have the number of infractions committed against them while in Armenia.
Armenia’s Investigative Committee reports that Major-General Melsik Chilingaryan and Colonel Armen Margaryan were arrested on May 30 and charged with “Abuse of power, transgression of authority or administrative dereliction causing grave consequences.” (Article 375, Point 2 of Armenia’s Criminal Code).
