Political activist Andreas Ghukasyan, who ran for president in 2013 and is now under arrest and awaiting trial on charges stemming from the 2016 Sasna Dzrer incident, today petitioned a Yerevan court to be freed on 1.5 AMD bail.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan leaves for Sochi (Russia) on October 11 to attend meetings of the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
According to the Armenian government’s website, the parties noted that Armenia and Iran possessed great prospects for continued economic cooperation.
Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan told Iranian-Armenian business leaders at a reception at Tehran’s Ararat Club that they “should serve as strong bridges in Armenian-Iranian relations not only for patriotic, but also for profitable business reasons.”
