Armenia’s birth rate decreased by 8% and its death rate increased by 5.2% in 2024 compared to 2023 according to the country’s National Statistical Service (NSS). 33,648 babies were born in 2024, compared to 36,590 in 2023. 25,576 people died in 2024.
The U.S. government, based on allegations it was purchased with bribes paid to their father, had seized the property in July 2024.
Armenia has suspended its participation in the Moscow-backed CSTO (Common Security Treaty Organization) but remains a member of the Eurasian Economic Union.
