Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) says that earlier today a group of armed men entered the Police Patrol Service and took a number of people inside hostage.

Negotiations are now taking place with the hostage takers. According to the NSS

The NSS communique says that those supporting the armed individuals have been using the media to claim that this is the start of an armed uprising in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

The NSS says that all government agencies are operated normally.

The NSS statement makes no mention of who the attackers are or their demands.
