Andreas Ghukasyan, who has been detained for over a year on charges that he organized the civil unrest that swept the Armenian capital following the Sasna Dzrer seizure of a Yerevan police station in July 2016, failed to appear at his trial today after contracting food poisoning at the Nubarashen Penitentiary.

Ghukasyan’s defense attorney Karen Mezhlumyan reported the news about his client who was being held, alone, in a Nubarashen cell.
