Armenia: Six Government Ministers Get the Boot

On the orders of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Armen Sarkissian today dismissed six ministers from office belonging to either the Prosperous Armenia Party or the ARF.

Pashinyan decided to dismiss the ministers after yesterday’s vote of a bill, introduced by the Republican Party of Armenia and backed by Prosperous Armenia and the ARF, that is seen as a ploy for the current parliament to remain in power.

The dismissed ministers are:

Minister of Emergency Situations Hrachya Rostomyan

Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artzik Minasyan

Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Artur Grigoryan

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Levon Vahramyan

Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Ashot Hakobyan

Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan
