Minutes ago, Hovik Abrahamyan was elected president of Armenia’s new parliament.

102 MPs voted in favor of Abrahamyan and 4 against. Four votes were disqualified.

Abrahamyan, who served as president of the previous parliament, was the only candidate for the post.

Absent from today’s voting were MPs from HAK, the Heritage Party and the ARF.
