The members of the "We will not be quiet" youth initiative group had earlier reported an incident, when on August 11 a woman in labor was brought to the maternity home in Vayk.

The Head of Department Metaksya Hovhannisyan had said that she could not come to the maternity home at that time, because she was "beating her wool", and that she would come in the evening.

Following this, the child was born with serious problems and was then transferred to the Muratsan hospital in Yerevan. The youth initiative had distributed a video in which the child's relatives blamed Metaksyan Hovhannisyan for "strangling" the child, "applying pressure on his head" and "killing" him.

The youth initiative group has now announced that the child unfortunately passed away a few days later.

"There are many specialists in Vayk, but they will not let them work because she is rich, her brother is in the KGB. She has said to me, 'I'll tell my brother, he will cause problems for you, they'll come after you, so behave yourself and keep quiet,'" relative Avetik Ikhpiaryan said of Metaksya Hovhannisyan.
