Jehovah’s Witnesses “Saving Souls” in Darakert Village

Yesterday, when I traveled to the Darakert village, Ararat Marz, with a colleague, I came upon an interesting sight. Two men, a bunch of papers in hand, were walking along the village street knocking on doors. Thinking they might be representatives of a religious sect, I started to take some photos. When the men spotted me, they quickly turned away and hastened down the street out of sight. We started asking some of the village women who these men were and we were told the men were Jehovah's Witnesses  who had come to "save souls" from the impending and unavoidable end of the world. I should point out that there are no churches in Darakert or the surrounding villages. The faithful must travel to the nearest church located some kilometers away in the town of Massis.
