Today, a large assembly of students had gathered outside the offices of the United Liberal National Party on Zarubyan Street, demanding that the party hand over evidence substantiating bribery charges against certain teachers. Reporters on the scene to cover the protest, tried to enter the courtyard of the Bryusov Linguistics University where a number of the students had congregated but were blocked by the university's security staff who proceeded to assault employees of the Kentron, H1 and Radio Liberty news agencies. The physical assault was caught on video tape. Gagik Shamshyan, a reporter with "Chorrord Ishkhanutyun" was dragged to the ground and beaten by one the Bryusov security staff. Mr Shamshyan was rushed to the Nayri Medical Center, apparently unconscious, and is now being treated in the emergency ward. RoA Human Rights Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan went to the hospital to visit the injured reporter.
