"Corruption in Armenia: Solutions and Role of the Diaspora"

The Toronto chapter of Armenian Renaissance is organizing a symposium under the rubric "Corruption in Armenia: The Solutions and Role of the Diaspora" to be held on May 31 at The Westin Prince Hotel.

Symposium speakers include civil society activists and scholars from both Armenia and the diaspora. Topics to be discussed include the role and participation of the diaspora in the impact of political and economic corruption, fundamental human rights violations, emigration, and changing the situation in Armenia. A lively and comprehensive discussion is expected.

During the symposium, for the first time, Armenian-Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan (pictured) will screen his film on corruption in Armenia called "The Illuminator" and will respond to questions after the film.
