Saint Karapet Church, in the village of Gandza where Vahan Teryan was born, (Ninotzmida region of Georgia) is undergoing renovation.

www.akhaltskha.net reports that village benefactors are underwriting the renovation of the church, the present structure of which was built in 1859 due to the efforts of Vahan Teryan’s grandfather, Father Grigor.

Every year, in late July, Teryan Poetry Day has been celebrated here since 1966 in honor of Vahan Teryan.
