Passengers exiting the first regular Air Cairo flight from the Egyptian beach resort town of Hurghada to Yerevan were welcomed by the traditional Armenian “salt and bread” ritual at Zvartnots Airport.

Members of the diplomatic community and political and cultural figures from Cairo’s Armenian community were on the flight.

Armenia’s General Department of Civil Aviation has granted Air Cairo permission to operate regular flights between Sharm El Sheikh and Yerevan as well.
