Armenian Human Rights Defender and U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Meet in Geneva

Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan and U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet met today in Geneva and discussed what steps Armenia is taking to improve the rights of the disabled, children, women and other vulnerable groups.

Tatoyan, according to an Armenian government press release, said that his office is currently working to improve the legal defense system in Armenia by raising awareness of human rights matters.

Tatoyan and Bachelet agreed to expand cooperation on a number of issues including the prevention of torture and the defense of women’s rights.
