Armenian Government Rejects Proposal to Hold Parliamentary Session in Provinces
The Armenian government has rejected a proposal by National Assembly Deputy Sergey Bagratyan to hold at least one session of the parliament’s next convocation outside Yerevan, in the provinces.
The Ministry of Justice questioned whether facilities outside Yerevan are technically equipped to ensure a proper voting process.
The ministry also said the government would also have to provide transportation to the deputies and, when necessary, would have to pay for their lodging.
