The Artsakh Ministry of Defense reports that one of its soldiers, serving at a southeastern military outpost, was killed by Azerbaijani gunfire today.

The soldier was identified as Sipan Melkonyan (b. 2000).

The ministry statement says that Azerbaijan violated the Karabakh ceasefire 220 times last week, firing 3,500 rounds of various caliber arms.

The ministry notes Azerbaijani forces fired 2,350 rounds on May 31 alone, mostly large caliber arms and sniper rifles.
