Armenian Minister of Justice Resigns

Armenian Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, nominated to the post by Nikol Pashinyan in May 2018, has resigned.

Zeynalyan, in a Facebook post today, does not give any reason for resigning.

He does thank Pashinyan for nominating him for the job of justice minister and says that the obligations of the job over the past year have been extensive given the historical situation Armenia finds itself in.

Most in Armenia believe that more needs to be done to reform the country’s judicial sector.

Prime Minister Pashinyan has, on several occasions, publicly admitted that Armenia’s judicial sector is in crisis.
