Pashinyan Raises Regional Security Concerns at Security Council Meeting

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, chairing a meeting of the country’s Security Council, expressed concern that security in the region has worsened since the last meeting of the council.

“We must note that the security environment around Armenia has not only not grown calmer, but, on the contrary, there are certain processes taking place in our proximity that forces us to be even more cautious about our security challenges,” Pashinyan said, according to a government press release.

“The security of Armenia and Artsakh, of course, is a serious priority of our government,” Pashinyan told the council, adding that he was certain that it would analyze and discuss the urgent matters on the table and make the right decisions.
