Twelve criminal cases filed against Zhora Martirosyan, the former mayor of the Tavush community of Azatamout, have been joined into one trial.

The charges against Martirosyan include large-scale embezzlement and misappropriation, malicious breach of public auction, abduction and abuse of power, and official forgery of documents, stamps, and vehicle registration forms.

Martirosyan resigned as mayor after town residents staged a number of protests last September.
