Armenian Deputy Economy Minister and Japanese Ambassador Discuss Agricultural Issues
Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Artak Kamalyan today, in Yerevan, met with Japan’s Ambassador to Armenia Jun Yamada and discussed agricultural issues.
According to a ministry press release, Kamalyan said that his ministry is developing a draft Sustainable Agriculture Development Strategy of the Republic of Armenia (Vision 2029).
Kamalyan then briefly outlined the main points of the document and its target areas, emphasizing that one of the key objectives of the strategy is to expand the geography of agricultural exports and diversify target countries, including Japan.
The parties then discussed the forthcoming Capacity Building for Agricultural Policy Monitoring Assessment grant program to be implemented by the Japanese government through the World Bank.
