
Armenia: Local Elections Today in 19 Communities
Nineteen communities in Armenia are holding local elections today.
Residents in the Armavir communities of Mrganush, Parakar, Tandzut, Nor Kesaria and Zartonk; the Aragatzotn communitity of Ghazaravan; the Lori communities of Lusaghbyur and Yeghegnut; the Gegharkunik communities of Ltchap, Vanevan and Gegharkunik; and the Shirak community of Getap, go to the polls today to elect community mayors.
Municipal Council elections are slated for Shgharshik (Aragatzotn) Jkalov (Lori), Sarigyugh (Tavush), Arevabuyr and Yeghegnut (Ararat), as well as in the provincial capital Artashat.
Residents of the Tavush village of Khashtarak will cast ballots for community leader and councilors.
