First Reading: Armenian Parliament Passes Bill to Raise Minimum Wage

By a vote of 101 to 1, Armenia’s National Assembly today passed a bill that will raise the monthly minimum wage in the country from 55,000 drams (US$116) to 68,000 drams ($143) on January 1, 2020.

Im Kayl (My Step) Faction MPs Babken Tunyan, Varazdat Karapetyan and Narek Zeynalyan sponsored the bill.

Today's vote followed the forst reading of the bill.

The bill must be approved by the parliament a second time before it is sent to the president for signing.
